NMB provides professional services to both public and private sector clients including land surveying, land development, site planning and design, municipal engineering and construction management. Due to our strong relationships with our current client base, Nielsen Madsen + Barber is growing and looking to fill several positions in all departments.

Current Open Positions:

Position: GRADUATE CIVIL ENGINEER / EIT

Position Type: Full-Time Employee

This position provides an opportunity to join a reputable full-service engineering firm where their professional goals can be achieved. The candidate selected for this position will enjoy working at a family-friendly professional firm located in the heart of the ever-growing I-94 North / South corridor.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this position include working as a Design Engineer under the supervision of a Professional Engineer on various municipal and developer-based engineering projects.

Position: CIVIL ENGINEER (PE)

Position Type: Full-Time Employee

The candidate selected for this position will enjoy working at a professional firm with a casual work environment and will have the opportunity to display his or her civil engineering design and project management skills on a wide array of municipal engineering and land development projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare site civil development plans, including paving, grading, erosion control, watermain, storm sewer and sanitary sewer designs.

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations.

  • Prepare stormwater management plans for site developments projects.

  • Design with proficiency using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and other engineering software.

  • Prepare project specifications.

  • Prepare permit applications and submittals for reviewing authorities.

  • Prepare reports, engineering studies and design of a wide variety of projects.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position: CIVIL ENGINEER INTERN

Position Type: Flex-Time Employee

This position offers a very flexible schedule ranging from 8 to 40 hours per week with available office hours from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. It provides an opportunity to join a reputable full-service engineering firm where their professional goals can be achieved. The candidate selected for this position will enjoy working at a family-friendly professional firm located in the heart of the ever-growing I-94 North / South corridor.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities for this position include working under the supervision of a Professional Engineer on various municipal and developer-based engineering projects.

Position: PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR (PLS)                     

Position Type: Full – Time Employee

The candidate selected for this position will have the opportunity to utilize his / her surveying and organizational skills to complete a variety of land surveying projects.

The successful candidate must have an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in land surveying, five (5) years of experience and have a Wisconsin PLS License.

Position: LAND SURVEY CREW CHIEF                             

Position Type: Full–Time Employee

The successful candidate must have an Associate’s Degree in land surveying or related field plus three (3) years of relevant experience OR a Bachelor’s Degree in land surveying or related field plus one (1) year of relevant experience.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Registration as a Wisconsin Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or the ability to obtain registration within six (6) months.

  • Experience with boundary surveys, topographic surveys and construction staking + layout.

  • Knowledge of legal descriptions.

Position: LAND SURVEYING ASSISTANT                               

Position Type: Full–Time Employee

The candidate selected for this position must have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of six (6) months of relevant land surveying (field work or educational) experience.

The ideal candidate will have any / all of the following:

  • Be enrolled in or have completed an Associate’s Degree in land surveying or civil engineering technology.

  • Previous experience with assisting in the performance of boundary surveys, topographic surveys and construction staking + layout.

  • Experience with GPS and robotic total station operations.
