Who We Are

Nielsen Madsen & Barber, S.C. was founded in 1954 as John H. Nielsen & Associates. In 1969 a partnership was formed to continue the practice under Nielsen – Madsen Consulting Engineers with the successor partnership of Nielsen Madsen & Barber formed in 1980.

In the early years of the firm’s existence, the primary activity was providing engineering subcontract work to other consulting offices and area contractors. Beginning in 1958, the services were broadened to include highway design, municipal engineering and storm water management.

Today, Nielsen Madsen & Barber, S.C. is a full service Consulting Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm providing expertise and guidance to a wide array of municipal as well as private clients.

Our services include: Municipal Engineering, Highway Design & Airport Engineering; Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection; Storm Water Management and Water Quality Design; Land Planning and Feasibility Studies; Surveying, Mapping and Permitting Services; as well as Construction Layout and Management.

Nielsen Madsen & Barber, S.C. has grown along with the Southeast Wisconsin area providing, expertise and responsive service to our clients for over 50 years.
