NMB provides professional services to both public and private sector clients including land surveying, land development, site planning and design, municipal engineering and construction management. Due to our strong relationships with our current client base, Nielsen Madsen + Barber is growing and looking to fill several positions in all departments.

Position: FIELD ENGINEER / CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR

Position Type: Full-Time Employee

The successful candidate must have a Associate or Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil / construction engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducting field inspections and testing to verify conformity to approved plans.

  • Reviewing construction of municipal infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and standards.

  • Monitoring the activities of contractors on construction sites and the construction process to verify that work completed is in accordance with contract documents.

  • Preparing, maintaining and reporting technical and analytical engineering related data.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering field

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil / construction engineering.

  • Experienced with the land development / public works contracting process.

  • Experienced with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.

  • Ability to work in project teams and communicate effectively.

  • Possess organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects / tasks.

  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and clean driving record.‍ ‍

Work Location: In person – Mt. Pleasant, WI

Position Description: full-time or seasonal / part-time during the construction season.

The wage being offered is $25 to $40 per hour depending on experience.
